General Description

Category 5E cable, commonly referred to as Cat 5 enhanced, is a standardized cable for Gigabit Ethernet and other network physical layers that is backward compatible with the Category 5 cable standards, Compared with Cat 5,Cat 5E features more stringent specifications for crosstalk and system noise. The cable standard provides perfor- mance of up to 100 MHz and is suitable for 10BASE-T, 100BASE-T (Fast Ethernet), 1000BASE-T (Gigabit Ethernet) and it has been included in the IEEE 802.3an standard.
